Reumatoidni artritis (RA) je progresivna bolest koja dovodi do velikog gubitka radnih dana i ranog penzionsanja, što je čini posebno značajnom sa socioekonomskog stanovišta.

CILJ: Cilj rada bio je ispitati radnu sposobnost bolesnika sa RA i vezu izmedju nivoa obrazovanja, funkcionalne nesposobnosti i radne nesposobnosti.

ISPITANICI I METODE: Ispitivanje je izvršeno na 140 bolesnika sa RA, od čega je bilo samo 13,6% zaposlenih i 19,3% penzionera. Prosječna starost zaposlenih je 45,26± 9,39godina, a prosječno trajanje bolesti je 6,11± 2,75 godina. Rađeno je detaljno ispitivanje zanimanja, obrazovanja, sposobnosti za rad, privremenog ili trajnog gubitka radne sposobnosti, uslova života, finansijskog položaja. Funkcionalna nesposobnost je mjerena sa HAQ (0-3,00).

REZULTATI: Obrazovna struktura bolesnika sa RA je izrazito loša. Bez ikakvog obrazovanja je 46%, dok fakultetsko obrazovanje ima 2,1% bolesnika. Neprekidno je bilo na bolovanju 27% ispitanika, vrlo često 47%, rjetko 21% i nikako 5%. Pacijenti sa fakultetskom naobrazbom i oni koji su zaposleni u privatnim firmama uglavnom nikada nisu na bolovanju. Funkcionalna sposobnost ispitanika mjerena s HAQ je bila u prosjeku 1,13± 0,48. Postoji značajna korelacija između vrijednosti HAQ i odlaska na bolovanje (r=0,57; P

ZAKLJUČAK: Bolest dovodi do velikog gubitka radnih dana i ranog penzionisanja, te opterećuje zdravstveni i penzioni fond. Viši nivo naobrazbe i prisustvo motiva za rad smanjuje korištenje bolovanja. Smanjenje bolovanja je moguće ranim postavljanjem dijagnoze i adekvatnim liječenjem prije pojave funkcionalne nesposobnosti. Pronalaženjem lakšeg radnog mjesta na početku bolesti, može se izbjeći rani odlazak u penziju.

Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is a progressive disease, which leads to the great loss of working days and early retirement that makes it very significant from the socio-economic point of view.

AIM: The aim of this work was to examine the working capability of the RA patients and the correlation between the level of their education, functional disability and working disability.

SUBJECTS AND METHODS: The examination is conducted on 140 RA patients. 13,6% among them were employed and 19,3% were retired. Mean age of the employed patients is 45,26±9,39 years and the mean duration of the disease is 6,11± 2,75 years. Detailed examination of their occupation, education, capability to work and temporary and definite loss of their working ability, life conditions, and financial position were done. Functional disability is measured by HAQ (0- 3,00). RESULTS: Educational structure of the patients with RA is extremely bad, 46% of them do not have any education, and only 2,1 % have University degree. 27% of the examined patients were constantly on sick leave, 47% were very often on sick leave, rarely 2 % and never 5 %. Patients with University degree and the patients who work in private sectors are the ones who are rarely or never on sick leave. CONCLUSION: The disease leads to a great loss of working days and early retirement, and it overloads the health and pension funds. Higher lever of education and the presence of motive for work decrease the usage of the sick leave. In order to reduce the sick leave physicians have to diagnose RA in its early stage and treat it properly before functional disability occurs. By finding an appropriate working place at the beginning of their disease early retirement could be avoided.
